J&L Contracting, LLC is seeking a parts runner that is self-motivated, organized, and knowledgeable to join our team. As a parts runner you will be working in a fast-paced environment and will be responsible for upkeep, organizing, and running parts to and from vendors. Our in-house team services all pieces of equipment and fleet vehicles.

Duties and responsibilities

• Self-starter and self motivated to help upkeep with shop cleanliness and parts running.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 100 lbs consistently.
• Ability to run sit down forklift, pallet jack, and basic equipment.
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned by Shop Manager.
• Maintain clean and safety forward workspace for Mechanics and Shop Manager.

Education/Experience

• Experience in the transportation industry is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
• Basic mechanical understanding
• Positive attitude and team player

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications Required:

• Highschool Diploma or GED preferred but not required
• Possess an acceptable driving record and a valid class E driver's license
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test
• Working Conditions

Working conditions at J&L Contracting, LLC include working in outdoor and shop elements. Some positions may include enduring hot weather, standing for extended periods of time on concrete flooring, dirt and lifting heavy objects to waist height and/or above the head.

Hire may be required to endure the elements. This could include being out in foul weather.

Physical requirements

Lift and carry up to 100 pounds up to 30% of the time. When needed wear PPE, maintain a steady pace which may require lifting objects above and/or below the waist.

Seeing: Must able to see to read and follow instructions

Hearing: Must be able to hear to effectively communicate with clients, vendors, and coworkers

Sitting: Must be able to sit for long periods of time

Standing/Walking: Must be able to move about worksite

Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: Must be able to stoop or kneel to pick up products or materials

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds

Condition of employment

Successful candidate may need to submit to random and/or drug testing throughout employment and successfully pass a background check.

Hours/Schedule/Pay: Monday-Friday, 7am-5pm with some overtime required. Saturday availability needed during busy season. $16-18/hr based on experience.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
